LOCATION

Port Douglas is just 68kms north of Cairns Airport. The drive along the Great Barrier Reef Drive follows a beautiful coastal road with some of the best ocean views along the Coral Sea coast. Port Douglas is the meeting place of the World Heritage listed Daintree Rainforest and Great Barrier Reef, which means it’s all on our doorstep!

GETTING HERE

Airport Transfers – We can arrange for you to be met on your arrival at Cairns Airport by either a shuttle bus for a seat in coach transfer or if you prefer a private transfer we can arrange this for you as well. Please contact reception for more information and prices. We do require at least 72 hours’ notice to confirm Airport or Cairns City transfers to the resort.

Hire Car Companies – Avis, Budget and Thrifty all have offices in both at the airport and in Port Douglas and there are locally based Port Douglas companies if you just wanted a car for a day or two.

Great Barrier Reef

Port is the closet point to the Great
Barrier Reef. Day trips leave from
the Port Douglas Marina daily and
there are numerous options for both
full and half day experiences as well
sailing cruises to Low Isles.

 

Daintree Rainforest

Explore the oldest living rainforest on
the planet with a knowledge guide
that will explain the biological
diversity of this unique area. Both full
& half day tour options are available.

 

Indigenous Tours

Experience the culture of Kuku Yalanji
with a smoke ceremony on a
story-telling walk through the
rainforest, learn how to create art
in a private lesson, or go hunting for
shellfish in the mangroves with
traditional spears.

Something Adventurous

For something a little bit off the
track our Tour Desk Staff
recommend spending a couple 
of hours with Grub on a 3 wheeler
trike, a Sunrise Hot Air Balloon ride
over the Tablelands or taking the
plunge and trying White Water
Rafting, or a River Drift Snorkel or
Canopy Surfing above the Daintree
Canopy. Each experience is unique 
to our region and caters to all levels 
of adventure.

Self-Drive Trips & Tours

Port Douglas has wildlife aplenty,
the award winning Wildlife Habitat
focuses on showcasing the
wetlands, savannah and rainforest
regions. If it’s the mighty crocodile
you want to see then Hartley’s
Crocodile Adventures is a must do
for you. Or why not explore the
beautiful Tableland region with
stunning waterfalls and fresh 
water swimming holes.


Kuranda Scenic Train & Skyrail

Kuranda Village is home to local
original heritage markets and
numerous wildlife sanctuaries. 
The Scenic Railway and Rainforest
Cableway provide a unique
